Melbourne Hypnotherapy & Hypnobirthing for Mamas

Hi, I'm Angi. I'm so happy you are here...

On one particular trip to the US through a random walk on the Fifth Avenue, I unexpectedly found my ‘thing’ in life, call it a purpose if you like. I heard a voice in my head 'You are here to bring joy.' This three letter word changed my life. Joy has become my compass in everything I do and the lens through which I view the world.

It was then only a matter of time to figure out what that would look like practically in my work. When I became a mother six years ago, I had no desire to go back to my intense medical career. I had to reinvent myself, figure out who I was again and what I could offer to the world while being a present mama... I felt the pull to work with women in the prenatal and postpartum space and bring more joy into their lives. So I went back to study (and to bed waaay too late...) to chip away at my dream. Angi Joyful was born.

And then Covid came. I gave myself a project. To go virtual in my business. To record my first online course for pregnant Mamas setting them up for a joyful postpartum - specifically how to prepare for the first forty days after birth. Ten months in the making. I hired a professional recording studio, a graphic designer, I wrote a 50 page e-book, transcripts, online presentation, new website, email sequences - I literally poured my heart out into this passion. It was time to launch this baby into the world. I clearly remember this day like it was yesterday. I delivered. And no one freakin’ bought the course. Nope. Zero. Not one soul. I was shattered that pregnant mums didn’t see the value of preparing for their postpartum. I never knew I had so many tears to cry.

And you know what happens when we hit rock bottom and don’t know what to do next… The breakthrough comes. At that magic intersection of feeling lost and complete surrender.

The following week the word ‘hypnotherapy’ came up from six independant sources into my life. Imagine a childhood friend that now lives in France who hasn’t contacted you in two decades all of a sudden messages you mentioning his wife is a hypnotherapist. And then a ‘random’ phone call from another friend who moved interstate sharing with me she is studying hypnotherapy. And a sms from an old mentor chatting to me about hypnobirthing… I couldn’t ignore it.

So back to study. More late nights (already used to it by then :) More promises to my patient husband that this time it’s going to work. Pushing through learning isolation with border restrictions preventing me from meeting my hypnotherapy buddies. Smashing hypnobirthing and hypnotherapy at the same time because I could see how it would all come together. And finally it did come together. The ‘overnight’ success. Offering women what they want. And giving them what they need.

Steve Jobs said “You can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future.”

Thank you for being part of my story and for the privilege of allowing me to shape your story - one cuppa at a time.
